Exercise is a lifestyle choice!

WARNING A RANT FOLLOWS:

I am so super, seriously, absolutely, one hundred percent tired of hearing people say that they want to lose weight…and then turning around and eating JUNK or drinking JUNK! No matter what there is no miracle diet pill or anything else that can make you magically wake up and be small and healthy. Losing weight and getting healthy should be a life choice that you make! Even if you do lose weight using a “diet pill” you will most likely gain the weight back as soon as you stop using it if you didn’t change your life style.

On the opposite side of the spectrum are those people who believe that they can “starve themselves skinny”. OH MY GOD ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Umm hello…that is a disease that many people are trying to overcome!! How can you CHOOSE to not eat or to throw up after you eat!

I mean really come on people! If you really want to lose weight and be the best you that you can be there is only one way to do it….

GET OFF OF YOUR BUM AND WORK OUT WHILE WATCHING WHAT YOU EAT!!!!

Okay super sorry about the ranting above…the rest of this will be about what I am doing in my life right now to get healthy.

Since I had my daughter I have put myself onto a nice meal plan and work out schedule. I don’t expect myself to be perfect or strict on what I eat….I expect me to be reasonable and make good choices as often as I can.

Here is my plan:

-Eat 3 to 4 times a day. (Small portion sizes, like a saucer plate instead of a normal one.)
-Drink no more than one glass of soda a day.
-Drink at least 5 glasses of water a day.
-Eat sweets/junk no more than 1 time a week.

-Exercise at least 4 times a week. (Paige and I have been doing a 30 minute workout every weekday and using the weekends as a break.)
-Walk/run at least 2 miles a day every day! (I am working up to being able to run a 5k)

So far I have lost 26 pounds and a few inches in 12 weeks! (Mind you about 10 of it was baby alone lol) I try to take my measurements once a month so that I can see what results I am getting. I am going to continue working out and getting healthy for as long as I possibly can. I want this to be a life style choice not a fad that I am doing for a few weeks to lose weight for the summer. My goal is to feel better about myself and to feel healthy and active. My husband and I have decided that we are going to sign up for a 5k in the fall, so I have until then to get my body ready!! Wish me luck!
