Mommy Writes: FaeTAL Part 10

FaeTAL

FaeTAL is going strong again!

I joined a Facebook Group with a friend and am getting out quite a bit of the story rather fast! It’s going to need some work…but I think it is going to be awesome once I get the story line down and can finally go back and edit!

The Fast Track Divas group is all about reminding us to set word goals and just sit down and write…don’t worry about edits or research…just make a note to come back later and keep on writing!

So far in just the day and a half that I have been a member of the group FaeTAL has gone from 12,458 words to 15,234! It may not seem like a lot…but for a writer that has been suffering from writer’s block for a while…it’s a lot!

Wish me luck as I dive back in!

7linechallenge

I was tagged by Stephanie Waldrop and ST Bende for the 7 lines challenge. I have had a horrible case of writer’s block lately…but I can still share something I wrote a little while back! (I cheated…it’s a bit more than 7 lines…oops? I forgot how to count?)

Anyways…all excuses aside…here are a few lines from page 7 starting at line 7 of my current work-in-progress FaeTAL.

Urbini Avi Jogger

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Urbini. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.”
I recently received the Urbini Avi Jogger and could not be happier! It was amazingly simple to put together, requiring ZERO tools to get the job done in less that fifteen minutes. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and allowed my 5 year old and I to get the job done easily. I was honestly very worried about set up when it came to the stroller, however, I was pleasantly surprised!

Mommy Writes: FaeTAL Part 8

Well…I started doing “spitball” session with a friend and my hubby…it did not end the way I expected!

He gave me a writing assignment…

I HAVE UNTIL SUNDAY TO KILL OFF MY MAIN CHARACTER CHRISTOPHER IN 3 PAGES OR LESS!

Apparently doing this is supposed to help me with character development and such…

Have you ever taken part in “spitball” sessions? How about getting writing assignments? Do you think this will help?

Okay…so someone told me that in order to get rid of my writer’s block I should make my characters do one of two things:

~Have sex

~Strip down naked and see what happens

Umm…won’t the second one lead to the first?!? I’ve written a small amount..hope to get more of FaeTAL out tonight! I want my imaginary friends to talk to me again!!

I am super busy due to the planning on a book blog tour for Wendy Beck’s The Naming of Legends series! If you are a blogger and interested in being a part of the tour head on over HERE and join!

J is for Jacket

Parents are always on the lookout for make-believe/play items that can keep their kids busy, and allow for creative thinking and role playing. They are also searching for unique back-to-school apparel to make their kids be cool. Up and Away, an Americana-themed children’s novelty jacket manufacturer which produces adorable outerwear, accomplishes both. This is why their jackets have been kids’ favorites for over twenty years.

–The jacket is authentic looking, and shows some attitude.

–Boys grow up wanting to ride motorcycles, and girls like copying fashion models and celebrities that they see wearing this style outerwear.

–Kids can use the jacket for both “make-believe/play,” as well as for outside warmth.
