Blogger 2 Blogger: 10 Question Swap

Ever wonder about the bloggers you read? Want to know more about them? Guess what?!? We do too!!

Welcome to the VERY FIRST official Ask Away Friday!!

Basically what happens is a bunch of AWESOMELY AMAZING EPIC bloggers get together and exchange emails with each other. We partner off and provide 10 questions (random, serious, silly, whatever) for our partner to answer. I have changed things up a bit and now we are all providing one question for everyone to answer…this way it’s easier for people to link up once it goes live!

I got to partner with Brittnei over at Partners Against Childhood Obesity!

Here are the questions she sent me and my answers to them:

1. What is your favorite movie and why?

Oh wow! A toughie to start with!! Umm…my favorite movie?? The Little Mermaid!! I love to watch it with Emalee…but I watched it before I had kids so yeah…no excuse other than I’M ME!! I adore the music in that movie! I will often find myself just singing the songs randomly…without music! I have even sung one of them with a cousin at a karaoke bar!! Yeah…we were sober!!

2. When did you start your blog and why?

I started my blog in May of 2013 (almost 3 months now) because I was bored and needed 12677_10201655656330162_1565006253_nsomewhere that I could let loose and get some of the randomness in my head out. After being on bed rest for 5 1/2 months I really just needed some social interaction and somewhere to be myself.

I have always wanted to do a blog but never did because I was afraid of what people would think. I had the typical thought of “who in their right mind would want to read what I have to say”. My hubby finally helped to push me over the edge and I started the blog! I’m super glad that I did!

3. How many kids do you have? Ages, names?

I have two amazing little girls! Emalee is 4 and Annaliese is 5 months old 🙂

4. Do you want more kids?

Part of me does…but I also know that I wasn’t supposed to have the two that I have. It was dangerous for me to be pregnant and there was a very small chance of them making it to full term. I had horrible pregnancies and several miscarriages in between them. Because of this, I had my tubes tied. However, the hubby and I have talked about adopting later on in life.

If you care to know my full story on becoming a mommy you can read it here.

5. What is your dream job?

This changes from time to time. Up until recently I loved the job I had. For as long as I can remember all I ever wanted to do was teach…now however…I am greatly enjoying graphic design stuff and would be thrilled if I could get into that!

6. If you could have dinner with someone dead or alive who would it be?

I’m not sure. There are a lot of people in my life that I love and care about greatly…there are some that I have lost that I miss dearly…however, if I am totally honest with myself…the one person I would want to sit down with alone and spend an entire dinner with is my Dad.

I love my mom and love to go eat with her…but that’s just it…I get to see her all of the time. My dad…not so much. When he does come by, it’s normally not for long and I do good to get him to come in the house. He doesn’t mean to make me sad..it’s just how he is. He is rather uncomfortable in those kinds of situations. I guess I just wish I could sit down with him and there be no awkwardness between us.

7. Do you think your parenting style is traditional? Why or why not?

1002550_10201523923996936_751732683_nUGH! I honestly have no clue! What is even considered traditional anymore? Things are so crazy now-a-days! I guess we are sort of traditional…but then again when I see how some other people do things…maybe we aren’t? We do allow for a lot of independence with our oldest and she seems to do wonderful with it.

As a teacher I also know that every kid is different and one parenting style won’t work for them all. I like to think of us as a Flexible Parenting Style. We use what we need, when we need it. I don’t like to confine myself or my hubby to one set standard of doing things. We feel around, make mistakes, and do our best to raise a happy, healthy, respectful, intelligent child.

I didn’t answer your question at all did I? lol

8. How did you meet your partner/spouse?

Our wedding day 5 years ago!
Our wedding day 5 years ago!

We met a little over 10 years ago in the City Parking Lot (a local hangout…it’s literally a parking lot) through friends. We have always been amazed that we didn’t meet earlier on. We hung out with a lot of the same people, went to a lot of the same partys…and yet some how we never met until that day.

9. What’s the highest level of education you’ve completed?

I have a BS in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education as well as taking a lot of Montessori Certification classes.

10. Would you or do you want to go back to school for anything?

I want to go back to school for graphic design if we ever get the extra income for it.

And there you have it! My first Blogger 2 Blogger is complete!

Curious how I looked while writing this???

I was laying in bed with a laptop and a glass of wine! 🙂 Gotta love the bed-head that is already forming!
