synopsisIn Gabriel’s Mate, Maya is turned into a vampire against her will and has absolutely no memory of her attack. Samson immediately puts his best guards with her to try and keep her safe and find who did this to her. Gabriel is a little apprehensive at first about guarding a woman as beautiful and unique and Maya seems to be. With his personal issue he hasn’t had that much practice dealing with women, especially in an emotional state. Gabriel must fight his attraction to Maya for fear of her rejection while simultaneously searching for the rouge vampire who is out to get her.

review

While I absolutely loved this book I was a little unhappy with how several key people from the first two books were taken away. It was hard for me to grasp that someone so close and so seemingly good could betray everyone that way. Even though this bothered me I still greatly enjoyed this book. I loved how Maya made all of Gabriel’s insecurities fade away as their relationship grew. This was by far the most suspenseful and slightly scary book in the series so far. I completely loved the amount of mystery and suspense that the author was able to create. It was, yet again, a book that once I started I simply couldn’t put down. I enjoyed that we got to see another side of Gabriel after meeting him in Amaury’s story. Gabriel honestly came off as a bit of a meanie in Amaury’s story and this book give us some insight as to why that is. There were quite a few twists and turns in this story line, some of which I found to be a bit much…but still some how necessary for the story to work and continue on it’s path.
