Fireworks Fun…or not!

This past Friday the town next to ours had their annual July 4th celebration.

This thing has turned in to an all out circus! Don’t get me wrong it is fun…but the church that hosts it has to be raking in the money from this event!

Let me explain through a few ton of pictures, a lot of a few words, and a possible video if I can make it load!

$3.00 to park Total so far $3.00…not too bad yet!

7 P.M. we arrive and the excitement begins! The place was already packed and crazy! It only got worse as time went on.
We start the walk around to see what all is going on while we wait for my sister and her kids to show up. Luckily for us, my grandparents sent money for Emalee to participate in the things that they had to offer. Otherwise, she would not have been able to participate! It just cost so dang much and we were close to pay day…we live pay check to pay check most months…those of you that live that way know that the week before pay day is NOT a good week to go out!

This is what we see as we look around…remember this is just a July 4th celebration…food and fireworks right? WRONG!

THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE RIDES AND ATTRACTIONS AVAILABLE! AND YOU GUESSED IT! THEY ARE NOT FREE!!

We decide to start by walking through the car show. Emalee was distracted from the rides for a few minutes and really seemed to enjoy the neat cars! She, of course, seemed to gravitate to the mini cup race car. Heck, at least this part was FREE!

She couldn’t believe this was made for an adult! lol

AND THEN….

My sister arrived! She had the money and off we went to the rides and attractions section of the celebration….

The first thing we had to do was get tickets…OF COURSE! Each ride cost any where from 3 to 5 tickets…per kid…if you need to ride with your kid you pay half the tickets on kiddie rides…full tickets on larger rides!

You guessed it…here comes another sum total of money spent!

$40.00 for tickets for 2 kids! Total so far….$43.00!! Holy crap…we haven’t been here more than a half hour!!

So here are a few pictures of Emalee and her cousin Bryson riding some rides 🙂 They sure had a blast!

Trying to convince Ema to come down the slide!
She did eventually!
Daddy is a little bored!

The bounce houses took different tickets….so you guessed it…MORE MONEY!!

$6.00 for 6 more tickets Total spent so far….$49.00

It is finally time for the FIREWORKS!! Yay!!
No wait…NOT yet! Now the kid is hungry!
Popcorn and an Icee later….$7.00 for both Total spent so far….$56.00

Then we passed by the blow ups…and you know it…gotta have one of those!
$7.00 for a blow up guitar Total spent FOR THE NIGHT…$63.00 (not counting what her cousins got)
CAN WE JUST WATCH SOME DANG FIREWORKS?!?!

Now that we have seen the fireworks it is time to go home! Unfortunately, while there are people parking the cars…there is NO ONE directing them out of the place!! OH MY GOSH!!

We started trying to leave at 9:30 …..

9:55….WE ARE STILL IN OUR PARKING SPOT!!

10:00 YAY! We moved one space!!

There are idiots going all directions, refusing to wait to be let out, and we have seen at least 3 wrecks almost happen because someone decided they WERE getting out right then whether the person let them or not! I wish I had gotten pictures of this traffic! It was insane!!

It was so bad that Ema decided people in this town weren’t very nice…she was happy we lived in our town instead! She said that she would NEVER live int his town! When someone finally let us out into the main line of traffic leading to the road Ema said that the lady must be from our town! lol I couldn’t help but laugh! Got to love how a kids mind works!

10:15 I CAN SEE THE ROAD!!!

Oh crap! The road is backed up too!! NOOOOOO!!!!

10:30 we are moving on the actual road!

This is how the hubby found us when we got home 🙂
I APOLOGIZE FOR THE PICTURES BEING A BIT FUNKY! When I made the move from Blogger to WordPress they were messed up and I haven’t been able to fix them yet 🙁
