synopsisIn Love Bites, Etienne, a game designer, is constantly having to deal with an annoying human named Pudge who figured out that Etienne is a vampire. However, instead of taking the easy route and killing Pudge (no one can seem to deal with being in his mind long enough to alter his memories), Etienne and his family are trying to come up with an alternative solution. During this time Pudge tries to kill Etienne in a few insane ways! He comes pretty close to succeeding which is what leads Etienne to meet Rachel, the assistant coroner at the local morgue. This book has a lot of comedy mixed in due to the fact that Rachel is in utter denial over her situation which causes some rather hilarious conversations.

review

I was iffy going into this book. I mean, the first one wasn’t all that great even though the story line was interesting and unique. I loved the idea that the main characters are gamers…score one there! There were some pretty gross moments in this one, that’s for sure! Umm…how to do this without spoilers…well let’s just say that Rachel has some odd thoughts while going down on Ettienne. I was amazed by some of the scenes in this book. I thought that both of these characters were supposed to be pretty smart…they sure like to prove other wise!

Ettienne proves to be quite the pushover and I wish he would have stood up to this stalker a long time ago. Being able to turn only one person, which is supposed to be your lifemate makes his snap decision a toughie! The romance was sweet and there was plenty of action, but the book felt like it had a ton of “filler” and not as much story line as I would have preferred.

I know that this is a really short review for me…but I just don’t have a ton to say about it! Overall I really enjoyed this book.I thought there were a few moments that were a little awkward or strange and it had its moments where it got a little slow or repetitive, however, I loved getting to know these two characters and can’t wait to read the next.
