Impatient baby

I have come to the conclusion that I have created two little monsters! Don’t get me wrong, I love them and wouldn’t trade them for anything in this world.

With that being said…I need to vent! Continue reading “Impatient baby”

Father’s Day 2013

Well my day didn’t go as wonderfully as I had pictured in my head…however, it was still amazing to see my dad. It took everything I had not to cry when he pulled up in the drive. I almost want to laugh looking back on how nervous and anxious I was this morning while straightening the house. For some reason I just knew that my daddy wasn’t going to show up. No matter how old I am…I think I will always get that nervous feeling inside when it comes to my daddy. I love him so very much and I hope that I can have him be a bigger part of my life now than he has ever been. Continue reading “Father’s Day 2013”

Who Says We Have To Be Grown-Ups?

Well…..after a busy, busy day where I accomplished next to nothing…..I felt rather down in the dumps when I sat down to do this post. I had some ideas for what I could talk about tonight…..but I just didn’t feel in the “right mood” for those types of topics anymore.

I tried and tried to work on my blog today. I got a little bit done…..but not nearly what I had planned to accomplish. The girls were all over me today and just weren’t willing to give me a break. My hubby tried to help out…..but they insisted on Mommy doing just about everything! I got some of my research done and a few new posts…even started a entire new section for Adventures in Cooking. Learning?!?

Ugh I am doing my best to figure out how best to set up my blog! This should be easy right?!? Wrong! I am struggling just to get the picture and headline I want up on the new Home page!

I apparently now need to learn how to write code in HTML in order to do some of the things I want to do. So guess what that means?!? You guys get to keep up with my journey of learning to program as well as all of the other random things I talk about.

I will warn you…these posts will most likely not be PG lol! My anger and frustration as I figure all of this out may involve a few “dirty words” and such 🙂 I’m sure I will have you laughing and yelling along with me as I do my best to figure this out! Heck I may even do a few videos of myself and the computer screen as I work! Could be fun right?!?

Not a bad mom!

Do you ever have those moments where you just feel like you are doing EVERYTHING wrong!!! Well, that has been my day today! I did what I usually do, got my chores completed early on, even did part of my daily workout first thing this morning! For some reason it doesn’t seem to matter how much I do or get done…I can’t help the feeling that I am not doing it right!

DIY Tried It!

Okay, let’s be honest with each other for a minute here! How many of you go on Pinterest and are like ‘OH MY GOSH THAT IS AWESOME I’M GOING TO TRY IT!” and then never do…or you tried it and it sooo didn’t come out like it was on the site?!? Well I know that I sure have!! I have decided to dedicate one page on my blog to Do It Yourself things that I have tried and let you know if they worked or not…I will even put up pictures of what it should have looked like and mine! Please feel free to share things that you have tried or would like for me to try 🙂 Wish me luck…I hope to start this today!!

Ribbet collage

1egg

3 TBSP melted butter

1 1/2 TBSP vanilla extract

2 TBSP white sugar

1 1/4 cups milk

1/4 cup half and half

1 1/2 cups flour

3 TSP baking powder

1 TSP salt

1/4 cup sugar

2 TBSP brown sugar

1/2 TSP cinnamon

1 TSP butter (or spray butter)

  1. Mix the egg with the 3 tablespoons melted butter, vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon white sugar. Mix in the milk and half & half. Sift flour with baking powder and salt in a separate bowl; stir flour mix into liquid mix to make a smooth batter.
  2. Mix together 1/4 cup white sugar with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Spray the pan with spray butter or melt 1 teaspoon butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Scoop or pour some of the batter onto the pan once it’s hot. Sprinkle the top of the pancake with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Let the pancake cook until the bottom is golden brown, usually 2 to 3 minutes. Flip it! Cook it until the cinnamon sugar melts into a crust, about 3 minutes. Repeat with remaining batter and cinnamon sugar.
  4. IMPORTANT: Let the pancakes cool WITHOUT stacking them!!

Well, there you have it! Some yummy pancakes! Emalee LOVES these!

Heavenly White Chocolate Chip Fudge Brownie

Simple Heavenly White Chocolate Chip Fudge Brownies

WARNING: I’m an awful cook…but hey this is one I’ve done in the past and
I promise…there were no fatalities!
1 cup of butter (completely melted to make it easy)
3 cups of sugar
1 tbsp sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups of flour
1 cup of cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1 to 2 cups of assorted chocolate chips (more white than dark)
  1. Cut the oven on to 350 and grease up the pan.
  2. Mix up the sugar, butter and vanilla (blend until it is kind of creamy-ish). Beat in the eggs.
  3. In a different bowl mix together the flour, cocoa and salt. Then pour that mixture into the sugar mixture and blend well.
  4. Add in your chocolate chips (try not to eat them all as you add them!)
  5. Spread it evenly into the greased pan.
  6. Bake for about 35 minutes.
  7. Most important! Tell everyone that it messed up, hide in the bathroom with a spoon and enjoy the creamy chocolate brownie and pray that you don’t have to share!

Hey look! That one didn’t include any box mixes or anything! Aren’t you proud??? lol

I’m not a huge chocolate lover so I prefer to do this with vanilla ice-cream to help take away a bit of the sweetness.
